This course focuses on Jimmie's lead guitar style of Swing/Western Swing and West Coast Blues. We'll take a look at how to clearly outline changes, tools Jimmy would use to transition between quick changes, and the use of blues in Western Swing and Jazz contexts!

Section 1: Swing Blues Fundamentals 
(common triads Jimmie would work out of, combining major and minor pentatonics, using enclosures to transition between chord changes)

Section 2: Connecting Chords 
(common ways Jimmie would impose chords to further connect the changes- #4 diminished and adding a minor 7 over the dominant chord) 

Section 3: Playing Through the Changes
(A look into how Jimmie would use the same types of chord shapes to quickly outline changes and the use of the b9. All in the context of 1-6-2-5 chord change) 

Section 4: Putting It All Together
(Learn a solo in the style of Jimmie Rivers using everything we have learned!)
