Over the course of the year, I will teach you 12 lead & rhythm etudes over must know swing standards. The lead etudes will focus on embellishing the melody, shell voicing comping, swing blues, early bebop styled arpeggios, & basic chord soloing. The types of melodies, harmonies, & rhythms used will largely come from players like Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Oscar Peterson, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, & Bud Powell.
