Over the course of the year, I will teach you 12 lead and rhythm etudes over must know swing standards. The lead etudes will focus on embellishing the melody, shell voicing comping, swing blues, early bebop styled arpeggios, and basic chord soloing. The types of melodies, harmonies, and rhythms used will largely come from players like Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Oscar Peterson, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, and Bud Powell. The rhythm etudes will focus on Freddie Green rhythm guitar style, using three note chord voicings and inversions. This series is for those who are just beginning to learn how to play swing guitar or would like to continue to expand their playing. All music is written out in TAB and Standard Notation in an easy downloadable format. All lessons are professionally shot in 1080p and recorded.
